Control Bedbugs With Good Bedbug Treatment Products
Bedbugs are a true insect while dust mites, often confused with bedbugs, are related to spiders. Dust mites are almost microscopic. Bedbugs are bloodsuckers and the bites are almost never felt by humans. If numerous, bedbug bites can cause a rash and even an infection. Some of the Polysporin and Neosporin families of antibiotics give almost instant relief to the bedbug caused rashes.
Signs Of Bedbugs
Bedbugs are not microscopic and can be seen on the bedclothes when viewed under a bright light. One sure sign of bedbugs is their cast skins. Turn the bedroom lights on and make the room as bright as possible. These skins signal an alert for the homemaker to immediately start looking about the bedclothes and the bed's wooden and metal parts to see if there are any sign of bedbugs.
What Does A Bedbug Look Like?
Adult bedbugs are brown to reddish-brown, oval-shaped, flattened, and about 1/4 to 5/8 inch long. Their flat shape enables them to readily hide in cracks and crevices. After a blood meal, the body elongates and becomes swollen. Eggs are not known to be placed on the human body, but are often found near where a person sleeps.
Find All Bedbug Hiding Places
Look for places that offers darkness, isolation, and protection. Bedbugs will often wander about so inspect adjoining rooms — like the master bathroom. Even when the bedbugs themselves cannot be found, their hiding places can be located by looking for the spots of fecal matter. These spots look like rust. Find these places and use a good bedbug treatment spray.
A Bedbugs Are Found Close To Their Meal
Bedbugs prefer to hide in cracks and crevices during the daytime and come out to feed on human blood at night, usually while the host is sleeping. Because they can flatten their bodies, they can fit in very small crevices, especially around the bed area. They are found in habitual hiding places, preferably close to a blood meal. Even though their preference is to be close they will travel several feet for a blood meal. Initial infestations tend to be around beds, but the bugs eventually may become scattered throughout a room, occupying any crevice or protected location. They also can spread to adjacent rooms. If the top of the mattress cover has a rip, the bedbugs may hide there. Look at the box springs for a rip that might shelter bedbugs
Bedbugs were almost non-existent until this century. The United States had basically eliminated bedbugs. The immigration from third world countries to the United States has brought the bedbug back. The sales of various bedbug treatment products has sky-rocketed in the last decade. Some major hotel chains have had lawsuits filed, because of bedbugs and other human transported pests. It has been reported that the fancy coverings for beds in hotel rooms are not cleaned often enough and the pest infestations remain, thus transferring the bedbugs from bedclothes change to bedclothes change. In order to prevent lawsuits hotel chains employ the services of exterminators with effective bed bug treatment to help eradicate this scourge.
